CRITICAL ILLNESS

COVERAGE FOR EVERY DAY EXPENSES

WHAT IS CRITICAL ILLNESS?

Paying for the out-of-pocket expenses associated with cancer, heart attack, and stroke can be overwhelming. Some are forced to use their life savings or sell assets to help pay for these unexpected health costs. The financial strain of a major illness gets even worse when the medical condition forces a family member out of work.

Prosurity understands the importance of being financially prepared for these health-related tragedies. That’s why we offer our clients the best Critical Illness supplemental health insurance products in the industry.

Your standard health insurance policy is intended to cover the medical treatments and hospital costs associated with an illness. This means that typical, day-to-day expenses are still up to the family. A Critical Illness policy aids in covering those additional expenses and helps to fill in the gaps that your health insurance may miss.

HOW DOES CRITICAL ILLNESS COVERAGE WORK?

Prosurity’s Critical Illness Insurance pays a lump-sum benefit directly to you upon first diagnosis of your cancer or illness.  You are covered regardless of other insurance plans you carry.  Benefits are paid directly to you unless otherwise specified.  Cancer plans will pay you an express lump-sum amount when first diagnosed and continue to pay you additional benefits as your long-term care or disability requires.

Critical Illness acts as additional disability coverage or as a critical condition plan for other cost of living expenses. You can use the money in any way you choose: to pay medical bills, buy groceries, supplement lost income from being unable to work, make insurance co-payments or take a vacation. With Prosurity’s Critical Illness Insurance, it’s your money and your decision.

No one ever thinks that a major or terminal illness will happen to them, but consider some of these facts. According to the American Cancer Society Cancer Facts and Figures report for 2012:

  • Men have nearly a 1 in 2 lifetime risk of developing cancer

  • Women have more than a 1 in 3 lifetime risk

  • Approximately 12 million Americans today have had a history of cancer

  • 1.6 million new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed in 2012
